mrs. jones on the edge

the memphis flower show, M3D on the edge, at the dixon gallery was a bright and beautiful way to spend this rainy afternoon.  joyce gingold, a memphis artist whom i greatly admire, was one of the featured sculptors.  her series of graceful human torsos rendered in white bisque are alone worth the visit (where they are on display until june 1), and i loved seeing the six floral arrangements that were designed to interpret and compliment her work.  for more information and photos, please click here.

super-lovely mrs. gingold is a beloved and revered teacher at my daughter’s school, st. mary’s, and is my favorite sight at the coffee shop in our neighborhood, where she occasionally sits, sips and works her magic on a little clay.
