a lovely client rescued this wooden panel at a tag sale, inspired to create a keepsake for her son using a family crest. paging mrs. keras! my exceedingly talented collaborator lauren and i painted and glazed the background to suggest wood grain, and then she took over. using acrylics, metallic paint, glaze and gold leaf, she brought the fierce, mighty griffin and his crown and cross to life for battle. her work is so perfect! please see the details below the before & after:
