confessions of a moody blue drama queen

friends know that mrs. jones avoids moodiness, confrontation or drama of any kind, at any cost.  but when her brilliant friend, interior designer selena mcadams (of spruce) tossed out the idea of a sexy, dramatic, deep blue for her living room walls, it was clear that a bit of drama was just the kick that the little pink house needed.  first, though, the old plaster ceiling and walls needed serious repair and smoothing-out at a level of expertise only the amazing larry healy could provide:

then, paint! a tweaked version of benjamin moore’s polo blue (#2062.10):

(and so it’s official…our blue period has begun.   it’s the perfect background for my favorite red shoes by melissa anderson sweazy (from her recent show at spruce) and hugo guiness‘s lino print sleeping dachshund.   there’s always the added benefit of the slimming effect of a dark color to hope for too.)
