continuing may-hem

the crazy pace continues, with all the school-year-ending events and activities piling up.  meg’s school celebrates the girls’ move to middle school with a special chapel program and reception.  (agreeing to put it together seemed like a brilliant idea last fall.)  luckily, mrs. jones had a stellar committee to help cut photos, burlap and ribbon, and [...]

keeping company with all the best

mrs. jones is not the only one doing a little public gushing over thomas jayne these days…super-chic ronda carman, who publishes the fabulous “all the best“, profiles my design crush in her latest entry.  read and enjoy!

babies, pt. 5

feeling green

another week, another brilliant robin selberg find: this cute pub table.  the room it’s bound for, though, needed a little bit of color, and so some sherwin-williams tansy green (sw.6424) plus raw umber glaze was called for.  here is before & after:

mine that bird

better than being in a box at churchill downs was a kentucky derby day dinner party given by our super-lovely friends colleen and larry capstick at her family’s beautiful antebellum farm, summer trees.  every detail was perfect, from the mint juleps right through to the croissant & white chocolate bread pudding, and mrs. jones’s friends all looked so stunning in [...]

shutter priority

these fabulous old shutters are a great find for a lovely client by sharp-eyed memphis designer robin selberg.  they will flank a window on a grand staircase landing, adding character aplenty.  all they needed was a little cleaning up, a handful of nails and a bit of glue to rein in some runaway louvers, and a good rub-down with myland’s antique pine wax.

mylands [...]
