finding myself a little stuck on a recent project, beautiful becky (my ultra-reliable go-to girl) at seabrook reminded me of the power of benjamin moore’s new aura paint to solve the problem, and it worked beautifully; with ladybug red, #1322, one coat (over primer) dried quickly enough to allow for the first of a two-layer crackled varnish process, saving a day’s drying time (and my lovely client some money). thank you becky! reading up on aura and other eco-friendly home improvement products, mrs. jones was shocked to learn that approximately 1/3 of the contents of our landfills is construction-related debris. (surely more responsible painting practices can help.)
paging mr. darcy! (sorry, not matthew macfadyen, though he was a totally dreamy darcy)(and his wonderful version of “pride & predjudice” is worth repeated viewings, with one more encore just to see the gorgeous old distressed finishes all over the bennetts’ home) no, for this we need colin firth: he is a partner in a new store in london, eco, that is providing products and advice for environmentally correct home improvements. he’s so lovely.
